Chapter 1-2 Test
*Homework due Tuesday:
1. Study flash cards for Chapter 1 and 2 VERBS ONLY.
2. Learn the pattern for the four principal parts for each verb (-o, -are, -avi, -atum), for example, paro, parare, paravi, paratum.
3. Fill out the sheet handed out in class.

Principal Parts quiz for Chapters 1-2 (Ch. 3 is extra credit)
Masculine & Feminine noun declensions
*Homework due Tuesday (Monday is Fall Break):
1. Decline (make noun charts for) terra, cibus, and puer.
2. Do Ex. 3.1 on Oxford p. 11o.
-First, write out the Latin.
-Next, label noun cases.
-Then, translate into English.
3. Start memorizing Chapter 3 verbs, including principal parts.

HW due Thurs 9/27 (1st Pd) or Fri 9/28 (2nd Pd)

1. Do the practice quiz on ETC p. 13.
2. Bring in questions on Chapter 1 and 2 for test review.

1. Do Oxford Ex 2.2 on p. 110. Write out the Latin, label it, and write out the English translation.
2. Study notes on the nominative and accusative cases (also in Oxford p. 110).

HW due Tues 9/25

1. Finish translating the Chapter 2 story Argus steals the dinner on Oxford p. 14. Write it out in good English. If you finished the story in class, re-read it to yourself without using your notes.
   
2. Use remaining time to study vocabulary and the nominative (subject) and accusative (object) cases.

1. Read Oxford p. 109 "Chapter 2" explanation of the nominative and accusative cases.
2. Do Oxford Ex. 2.1 on p. 109.

HW due Tues 9/11

1. Do ETC p. 12. Translate the English sentences into Latin. Use your resources: Oxford book, flash cards, notes, etc.
2. Study your Chapter 1 vocabulary from Latin to English.

HW due Mon. 9/10

1. Do Exercise 1.3 on Oxford p. 109. Write out the Latin sentence replacing the English word in parenthesis with the correct Latin translation. Then, write the English translation of the full sentence. Make sure to use good English.
2. Write out VERB CHARTS (all 6 forms- I, you, he/she/it, we, you all, they) of these verbs:
   
1. Pd 1 ceno, ambulo, and intro
   
2. Pd 2 do the verbs I put on the board in class. If you can't remember, do the three listed above.
   
3. If you have extra time, study your Chapter 1 vocabulary cards from Latin to English (10 minutes).

HW due Thurs 9/6 (Pd 1) & Fri 9/7 (Pd 2)

1. In your orange Oxford book, read the Quintus story (pp. 11-12).
2. Answer the questions on the homework sheet handed out in class. Remember to read the questions before reading the story.
   

Homework due Wednesday, September 5

1. Practice reading aloud the story on p. 10 of your Oxfordbook called Scintilla and Horatia at Home. Read the story to a family member or pet and practice your pronunciation.
2. If you have not yet made flash cards for ALL of the Chapter 1 vocabulary words, finish them for tomorrow.
