Use yellow vocabulary list from Chapter 1 handed out in class to make flash cards for all chapter 1 vocabulary. Each flash card should have Latin word(s) on one side and the English translation on the other.

Back to school...
Welcome to Latin 7!
This year, we'll learn the basics of the Latin language and a little about the culture of Ancient Rome, too. You should bookmark this site and check it frequently for homework assignments, helpful links, and other important information.
What you'll need for class:
-Latin binder with labeled dividers (handed out on first day of class)
-lots of blank note cards for vocabulary words
-blank notebook paper
-orange Oxford textbook
-yellow ETC workbook
-an open mind and interest for learning a new language and its culture
Homework due Thursday, August 30th

- Write thoughtful answers to the questions on the homework sheet handed out in class.
- Read the Introduction, Oxford pp. 5-6. Stop before the section called Consonants.
- Thought exercise: (You may make notes if you want. We will talk about this in class tomorrow.) Imagine an ancient classroom versus a classroom today.
- What differences might there be between the two?
- What would you like our classroom environment to be like?
- What expectations do you have of the students? Of your teacher?
